I like resorts with resort amenities. I don't want to cook or clean on my vacation, so AirBnBs are a no. We aren't rich - we budget and save for family vacations including meals out. We prefer 2 rooms or a suite with a door that closes but when that's not affordable at a place we want to be, we all share. Nobody gets the best sleep in those instances but I'm trying to raise my kids to be adaptable and non-snowflakey. Growing up, my family of 5 never stayed in hotels. Too expensive. Camping or road trips to visit relatives was all there was.
I feel the same and am in an Airbnb right now. Each kid has their own room and we have multiple bathrooms. There is a cleaning service and on call housekeeping through the rental agency. We needed more towels, I called and they delivered. We are going to restaurants, no cooking for me! There’s a pool, hot tub, gym, tennis courts etc it doesn’t have the all inclusive drinks and buffets like some resorts but we are in the US and it’s not that type of vacation. I’m just pointing out that this was less expensive than a hotel and we still have some amenities.
