95% of the people in that store appear to be masked. Youngkin did not read the room.
So if 95% of the people in a room are snorting coke, everyone should be?
+1 I thought resisting peer pressure and sticking to one’s convictions were the ideal goals. Now the diehard maskers are apparently in ideological agreement with the Borg.
The right wing anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers are far worse where it comes to mindlessly behaving like the Borg Collective. They are mentally locked into irrational blind faith that if they ignore covid enough, if they fight against masks and vaccines hard enough, it will somehow magically go *poof* and disappear.
You know..... you make a huge mistake lumping anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers into one basket and assuming that people who are opposed to mandates are anything more than anti-mandate. I am an example of this.....fully vaxxed, wore a mask early on (after Fauci, et al changed course and said that yes, to wear a mask), followed all the "mandates" and took precautions as necessary. As time went on, and as more information came in, we are finding that despite doing literally EVERYTHING we were told to do, people who did everything "right" STILL got Covid. The vaccine was a game changer. It, for the most part, prevents severe cases. So, if you are triple vaxxed, why continue to don the mask? Is it really about preventing spread? If you are wearing a mask, are you doing it to prevent spread or to protect yourself? And, now we know cloth masks are useless, why continue to wear them? So, I do NOT believe this virus will magically go *poof* and disappear. In fact, I think it is never going away. But, I refuse to wear a mask for the rest of my life. I think it is more prudent to make sure we are doing what we can for those most at risk (and we know who those people are), and for the rest of society to get on with life.
This, 100% this.
