According to Chris Cram, Montgomery County Public Schools’ Director of Communications (MCPS), disciplinary measures were taken against the players, but he would not reveal what measures were being taken to protect the students’ confidentiality. Cram told MyMCM that he did not have any information regarding any discipline for the schools’ coaches.
Point 1 - So tired of hiding behind "confidentiality". Players were in full public gym and on video punching other players. You don't need to publish their names but you do have a responsibility to at least say "players found to have violated their Player Code of Conduct" have been suspended from 2 games (or whatever). That way OTHER players understand there are implications. Otherwise they probably surmise that nothing much happened. And coaches (i.e. "adults") in public position such as Coach or Administrator or Teacher should not be afforded same confidentiality. They are an example to the school community and if they were involved in a melee (not trying to break it up but actively going after other kids), they should be accountable. Point 2 - 2 games is laughable. That's half (1/2) a week on HS schedule. Guess MCPS has no problem with brawls.
I'm counting on seeing much more of them after the leniency mcps showed these basketball players
