[/quote] Yes, whatever you write here will not influence MCPS, except for their PR monitoring intern who will say "parents STILL angry about magnet admission criteria." MCPS is not a customer service organization. They are a government monopoly. As such, their mission is to ensure that all the children meet the government standards for education by graduation. Whether your gifted child gets the best possible education for their unique needs is not one of those government mandates. (Unlike some other states, PA for one, that have Gifted IEPs) It gets better for high school when your student has more choice to pursue their individual interests and talents. There is no other choice for public education. If you can, vote with your feet - contact the Feynman School or another private that has the capability of being more personalized to your child's needs.[/quote]
