Macalester has a great location.  It’s on the edge of St Paul (away from downtown)  in a very cool neighborhood full of great restaurants, artsy shops and pretty, old homes. [/quote]

Everyone has different preferences.  We visited Macalester and several other midwest SLACs this summer and my DC hated the location of Macalester and didn’t apply.  It was clear that DC shouldn’t apply given the supplemental essay about Macalaster’s location. DC wound up applying ED to the most isolated SLAC we visited.  [/quote]
