If my kid played on a 7th grade division 1 team, I'd notify the FCYBL board about the McLean violations. Part of what makes FCYBL what it is is that it's regional and you can only try out for the team(s) your zip code feeds into. Otherwise what a mess it will be; kids driving all over the county to try out and play for different teams, aggressive parents and coaches will create super teams -- not as much fun at all. For those who want that experience, there's AAU.
Apparently kids are driving from centreville and chantilly to practice for McLean twice a week. Can’t imagine doing that all winter.
You are only allowed two out-of-zip kids per team, so if this applies to more than 2 kids, they're breaking the rules.
May be so but no one is going to know unless somebody reports it. Again FCYBL is NOT proactively requiring coaches to provide the usual proof of zip documentation like they have every other year pre-covid. I have no idea why not. It's a simple electronic/email thing. They said specifically that they will only ask for proof if another team reports saying team is stacked with out of zip players. Players have to register directly on the FCYBL website so it would seem pretty easy for the league to check that if notified.
