Didn't we just win the World Cup by beating the European Champions 2-0? Didn't that just happen?
Sure almost 3 years ago with a then aging roster.
Get back on your meds, Grandpa.
Are you denying that it was nearly 3 years ago or that we had an aging roster? If you are going to take the time to reply at least reply with a actual rebuttal or counter point.
DP, but yep, an old roster of overrated, non-technical, washed-up US players beat the best of Europe, in Europe, less than two and a half years ago. That included wins against Sweden, Spain, France, England and Netherlands. What about games since the World Cup between USWNT and European national teams? US beat Spain in March 2020 US beat England in March 2020 US tied Sweden in April 2021 US beat France in April 2021 US beat Portugal in June 2021 US lost to Sweden in July 2021 US beat Netherlands in July 2021 In summary, in games between the USWNT and European national teams in the last 2.5 years, the US has won 10, lost 1 and drawn 1. Based on those facts, does a European national team, or the USWNT, have a better team?
You know the friendlies were played with other countries 2nd and 3rd team players…right? Unlike the US who bring out their “stars” to play in friendlies vs try to build depth which the US does not have as shown by their results. Did you watch any of those games? The US struggled. You do not seem to know much about these games other than the results. Why don’t you start a thread about how great the USWNT is and move on from this thread…it is about the Women’s NCAA tournament with the final tonight.
You know when someone has a losing argument: when they ask someone to rebut their post about national teams and then, after reading such rebuttal, ask people to stop talking about national teams. I’d be happy to just talk about tonight’s final. But just to put a bow on the national team discussion, the prior poster is, yet again, making arguments without facts. The European teams sent 2nd and 3rd teams to play the US in 2020 and 2021? That was certainty not true of the Netherlands Olympic roster that lost to the US in the Olympics. It is also not true for the Spain game in 2020 - 9 of the 11 women that played in the game vs the US in 2019 also played in the 2020 game against the US, and the other 2 “new” players are first teamers. The US did the same, with Sonnett and Williams being the 2 players who played in 2020, but not in 2019 against Spain. The same I s true with England - 8 of the 11 players who played in the game vs the US in 2019 also played in the 2020 game against the US. I could go on, but it’s clear you like to spout fact-free arguments. Let’s just get back to talking college soccer.
Please do not go on because you are an idiot. You know the USWNT did not win in the Olympics…right? They struggled. Sweden 3-0 lost New Zealand 6-1 win Australia 0-0 Netherlands 2-2 penalty kicks win Canada 1-0 lost Australia 4-3 win Not too good but in your world view dominant….oh they really showed those Europeans how to play soccer! Facts are facts as you say  The USWNT were having problems going in to the Olympics. The friendlies before the Olympics the European teams(particularly Sweden) not put their top lineups out and the USWNT struggled to get a draw. If you watched the games USWNT struggled with teams outside the top 25 Mexico and particularly Nigeria. If you watched the games it was fairly easy to see major holes in the USWNT. Maybe try watching a game? In the lead up to the Olympics the USWNT played Sweden(who played many of their 2nd and 3rd team players). Why because Sweden qualify for the Olympics and it was a friendly. The US was lucky to tie and did not look competitive let alone dominant. The US looked slow and unskilled with the exception of Lavelle and S. Mewis. They still had problems putting three passes together. The US played France who did not qualify for the Olympics and won 2-0. The US did not look great in that game either. They played Portugal who did not qualify for the Olympics either and won 1-0 in a game that should have been 0-0. Both France and Portugal looked uninterested in the game and played a mix of players because the game did not matter. Oh but the USWNT showed the world how to play soccer!
Nobody wants to read this much. And, no one cares wht you think enough to read this.
