This jello is so frustrating. I tried to carry on the tradition and just could not get it right. I applied the next layer too soon and got breakthrough or too late and they didn't stick together. I don't know what the secret is these old Aunties have mastered. I normally don't have problems following recipes.[/quote]

That sounds more adult friendly. I've tried to make the layered jello with just jello, and also the creamy version which has layers of colored jello in between creamy white layers. So much work for so little reward. But my husband had fond memories. My family had the simpler jello molds with canned fruit added. My mom has finally given up on them because even the kids don't want to eat the jello.[/quote]
