Why.. what happens during peri menopause/menopause.. should I be scared?
Not scared, just aware. Just like all changes we go through from starting menses in puberty, to our monthly cycles, to using hormonal birth control, to pregnancy and breastfeeding. All of those have hormonal changes and you learn to deal with the crazy things our bodies do. Sometimes using medication or switching medication or using an alternative method. Peri menopause for many, the cycles get wonky—shorter or longer, heavier or lighter. Everyone is different. I had years of super heavy periods that came every 14-60 days. I could never predict. Now I have super light, just spotting periods every 30-180 days. Some women get night sweats, hot flashes, brain fog, trouble sleeping.
