While I get that there are homeless with mental illness, there are also many homeless who are mentally ill BECAUSE they made poor choices to abuse drugs and alcohol.  I also get sick and tired of the bohemian types who are young, abled bodied people who are perfectly capable of holding a job, yet all they want to do is get high everyday and sit in the park doing nothing.  I can't stand the gutter punk types who think they're winning because they're sticking it to the man, then go around begging on the streets for money.  No, get a job you lazy bums. BS, there are program everywhere.

This whole thread is 'give a man a fish' rather to 'teach a man to fish'.  Constantly handing out freebies teaches nothing, nor does it repair anything.  There are many programs that exist in the are for housing.  They can get welfare checks and food stamps.  There are employment programs scattered throughout the area.  You can bring a horse to a trough of water, but you can't force it to drink.  What more do you want? We've already provided the water.  At some point, personal responsibility matters. [/quote]
