Why can’t VAR, FCV, and Loudoun get along? Such waste squabbling and not partnering / combining.
Why should they partner?
So they can become a mega club and be dominate and pull all the business in from all areas. The new name you ask? .................... The three stooges.
It’s not supposed to be about business … that’s the point. Yes I know it is but that’s the problem. The mindset is about business and club and coaching accolades etc. The kids and teaching them is all secondary. Not talking about one club per se, but not all the squabbling and field fighting/hoarding.
If it is about business and the development of the kids is secondary (I'm not saying I agree with this, but just for the sake of argument I'll go along with it), then if clubs are not delivering development it is because the customers are not demanding it. In fact I disagree. The market is delivering a multiplicity of product as you would expect. Some clubs cater to parents who want development, other clubs cater to parents who just want wins, other clubs cater to parents who pay under the table for playing time, and other clubs offer cheap prices etc. If you shop around you can find the club you want. For my own kids I didn't always want the same thing. I have one kid who is actually talented. For that kid I have picked out a club that develops its players. My other two kids are not especially talented, nor do they care especially about winning so I just looked for the best deal. Every club should not be about developing kids, because that's actually NOT why many kids play.
I agree with your assessment of the market place mostly, however I (and my kid) have been involved with many clubs. All of them have been about their own self interest and not really about their customers. Some win, some lost but few really develop. They simply recruit. It is the easier route. Anyhow, it is what it is.
