Hunt Valley: Assuming your child's GBRS is decent, you should be find. if the 147 is from extensive coaching, and the performance is not realized in past classroom performance, then it is not guaranteed. The issue is when the test scores are out of whack with everything else, the committee assumes test prep.
How on earth can you assume that? I might assume that the teacher and student did not click. It happened to my kid in another school district. The kid was bored out of his mind, goofed off and did substandard work. I asked for testing, teacher was strongly against it due to what he showed in class. He tested off the charts, got identified as GT. The teacher was shocked. She completely changed her approach with him and he went from one of her worst students to one of the best in a matter of weeks. If she had been his teacher in this district I am sure she would have given him a very low gbrs. With scores that high I really don't think the assumption should be test prep, even if the teacher's assessment is low. There are other variables that can cause such a discrepancy.
