Most youth sports parents don't need to know anything.  Just help keep the kids organized.  I coached my kid's softball and track clubs.  All the volunteer parents did was stand there.  It's the lazy ones who sit in their car, sit on the bench starring at their iPhone, or just drop their kid off and leave.

Again, NO youth club needs all parents to be coaches.  Just volunteer to stand there and help.  It's not hard.  Parents are just lazy.[/quote]

Ive coached every youth sport my kids were involved in, even sports I knew little about because other parents would never do it. I would look up soccer drills on my free time and try to learn the game because I never played it besides gym class. Finally when my oldest child's grade got to the point where they really needed to know the game better, I said they need to find a real coach. Finally another parent who played the game stepped up, but I still helped out. I still help out now with their varsity sports when needed Ive chased balls around, prepped the fields etc. If I am there I will gladly help. During all the time I did coach, I never noticed any of the mom's flirting with me.[/quote]
