For those who pretend not to know (or really are that naive) - any upscale bar/restaurant/hotel has hookers, call them what you want, or pretend not to see them, your choice.

Years ago when I was younger (and cuter)---I was having drinks with a similarly aged female friend in an upscale hotel bar in DC.  We figured out by the whispering of the tourist couple at a nearby table that they were wondering whether we were high-end call girls.

I was a paralegal in my 20s and was sent along with a fellow paralegal to the Four Seasons to deliver a set of documents that required wet signatures, We walked up to the front desk, red-welds in hand, to announce our arrival to the front desk clerk as instructed, and asked him to call up (pre-cell) to let the client know we were here and on our way up.  He smirked a bit and did as asked. When we walked away, my colleague laughed and said, hah he thought we were sex workers, apparently that is a thing.

The prostitutes who are making daytime calls always, announce their arrival as paralegals. I remember being mortified. [/quote]
