NP but I think what the PP is saying is that your comment that you hope they recover quickly and get counseling if necessary is not really in line with the situation. They’re not recovering quickly and may not recover at all and of course there will be a pretty terrible psychological impact. Your comment sounds like something someone would say about something a lot more benign than a mother and young child being shot and critically injured.[/quote]
