I think Dylan and Jess were burning her journals because Erin was raped or in a relationship with someone and they knew it and don't want it to be found out. I do think Dylan thought he was DJ's father, but knew about this other relationship. Maybe it is the priest. Maybe it is a family member like the cousins. And they think it would embarrass Erin so they want to erase the evidence of it. I just don't think Jess is covering for Dylan killing her.

Not sure who killed Erin or why yet. Could have been DJ's father. Or maybe she was blackmailing someone for money and they did it.[/quote]
