I think some people’s skin is just drier than others’. If I exfoliated every day my skin would be red and angry. I can’t imagine scrubbing vigorously with a washcloth. I use a sugar scrub about once a week and it’s fine.
Liken it to rinsing your mouth with mouthwash. Instead of brushing your teeth. No one is scrubbing skin like a country pot scouring. But I do agree that you can alternate. People with leathery skin the build up shows. That and sun damage. Moisture, good vitamins in, and healthy skin that can regenerate and heal itself. Haven’t you heard of the derma roller? The prickly wheel that puts little needles in your face to stimulate collagen production. The skin is a very critical and sometimes easily neglected organ. Vinegar baking soda lemon those are all good for your face on occasion too.
