I'm 54 and truly blond and blue eyed. I don't color my hair, despite the white that's coming in.... I now have red mottled skin from sun damage on my neck and chest, just like my mother did, despite sunscreen. I don't and never have thought blond women were the epitome of beauty. I think Selena Gomez is more attractive than Taylor Swift, for example.
+1 I got tons of attention as a child, in my teens, 20s, 30s and even early 40s. Now I'm almost 50 and I just think I look washed out and old. I never really understood the attention or wanted it (many reasons for this). Growing up in DC proper in a military family my circle of friends come from different ethnicities, but probably the most are African-American, Persian, Korean and Vietnamese (school friends and also kids of my Dad's co-workers). I have always been attracted to women with dark features, non blotchy skin (whether women of color or just white women who have olive skin). It just has always looked more beautiful to me. I tried to tan when I was younger and i'd just burn. Now I have brown spots and wrinkles. My friends look so much better than I do.
