THIS.  The FACT is that Milley was imminently about to go much, much farther than merely deploy troops against protestors.  Fact.  He only walked it back well after the fact, and then only after multiple retired flag officers publicly denounced him.  Powell, Mattis, McRaven, Stavrides, and Clapper ALL knew what Milley was doing and they all spoke up, both publicly and privately.  But for them, ...

This is la la land.  There is no evidence that troops would be deployed.  They can't be legally.  There were no plans.  And there were no troops put on alert -- so it was not very very close.  Even if they were, I would not expect those orders to be followed.  This is legacy stuff.  No one would do this under these facts.  You are either Borris or a conspiracy nut.[/quote]
