It’s not supposed to be. The seller told OP to keep the first (misdirected) ham and said they’d contact the buyer and then send a second ham to the recipient’s correct address. Unfortunately, neighbor didn’t know all of that and contacted OP to say that a ham was coming to their (OP’s) address by mistake and asked OP to contact them when it arrived so they could retrieve it. OP didn’t want their Christmas dinner ruined, so she handed it off to neighbor without telling them about the second ham that will be arriving at their house to replace the first one. She was afraid the second one wouldn’t arrive in time.

That’s why I’d cancel the second ham if I wasn’t going to get any ham anyway. Why should neighbor who wouldn’t correct the issue get 2 hams?[/quote]

That's right!   It would be like they are being rewarded.   They might get the idea to do this againnext year so they can get another free ham!  [/quote]
