It’s a puppy. It is still learning about boundaries and living in the world. You are a monster for suggesting that a dog has no more value than a mere commodity. A dog does not exist merely for our amusement. A dog is an individual life that we have an obligation to respect and care for. If you take on a responsibility for a living being then you have taken on the obligation to act in the animals best interest.  [/quote]

A dog doesn’t have any more value than a commodity. At this point they actually DO exist for our amusement. Dogs are pets, bred for humans to enjoy. If you aren’t enjoying it, and the pet is actually causing harm to your family, get rid of it.

But, do you know who OP actually does have a real obligation to, and whose life has actual value? Their child. The child is the most important here, who care about the dog? People are so soft these days I swear. Priorities completely out of whack. [/quote]
