This reminds me of the gifts I got from my stepdaughter who was in her early 20s and working at the time.  One was a bar of soap that came free with purchase. Another was a 3-pack of socks, with one pair missing. Then she really stepped up and bought me a necklace with the most horrid green and brown stones in it (think 70's shag carpeting colors.)

Your father has serious boundary crossing issues.  If my husband had conversations like this about me with his ex-wife AND his daughter he'd be looking at divorce number 2.  No wonder second marriages have such a high failure rate.  No one with children should ever get remarried. [/quote]

^ BTW, your mother is a sh!t-stirrer.  You yourself say you weren't upset by the gift yet she became "furious" and made a big stink about it.  What she should have done is taught you to remain polite no matter what kind of crappy gift someone gives you. Then she should have dropped it.

Yep, figured it was about time to use the old stereotype about Wicked Stepmothers and add in a bunch of new and improved details to make yourself a true Cinderella. Sorry. There are two sides to every story. I'm sure your father and SM might have a different perspective especially when it comes to your mother's behavior.

It is interesting you say this was the first Christmas you spent with your father and half-siblings. So your father was re-married, had multiple children who were your half-siblings yet you NEVER spent a holiday with them prior to this experience?  That seems odd.  Then after one alleged "crappy" experience you never again spent another holiday with your father and your half-siblings.

IMO I think you may have been subjected to Parental Alienation by your mother.  Suggest you read up on the topic.  It may be enlightening. [/quote]
