For Warren there was apparently a distant genetic link and family lore.  This woman straight up made up that she was North African, then later a black Latina from the Bronx, even though she is a white, Jewish woman from Kansas.  Even tried to speak with a fake accent.  I don't think there are many similarities here.[/quote]

This.  Warren repeated family lore, which was apparently based on reality.  This lady claimed at least two different ethnic heritages that weren't actually hers, AND she lied about what city she was from, AND she used her fake position to challenge and berate other POC in academia (as well as white people).
