I just don't get this dresses are hard thing. I wear skirts or dresses 95% of the days all summer. I walk about 3 miles a day, I run after the bus, I do chores and light yard work, occasionally I go for a little hike or something. I never feel like I am being restricted by my clothes--obviously I am not wearing a formal gown to the park, but what gives people? Are you just buying the wrong dresses?
Nope, because I don't buy dresses. First off, no one needs to see my pale, spider-veiny legs. Second off, once I get the proper undergarments so I can be assured that I'm properly "sucked in" and that no one will see my lady-bits, it makes dresses totally impractical. Because I've been around long enough to have seen womens dresses fly up in the wind on metro escalators, ride up to hoochie-levels while sitting, and just generally being wildly inappropriate. I'd rather not have to worry about what might or might not be on display at any given time. Therefore, I will stick with pants. I cannot imagine doing yard work or going for a hike in a skirt.
