Do students in public school even end up with a GPA that low these days? If they are taking honors and AP courses, their GPA should be higher than that if they actually belong in those classes. If they aren’t in those classes, are they really college bound? You're an a$$ PP is telling the truth. Normal/regular track courses are literally 4-plus years behind. It's a joke and your child will be several years behind college readiness, no matter if they have all As and Bs.
You are also an a$$. Both of my kids took a mix of regular, honors and APs and both learned a hell of a lot more than I did in my redneck high school back in the day. I graduated from college with a 3.98 GPA despite having (by PP's math) the equivalent of an 8th grade education when I started. Also, how is a regular pre-calc class four years behind an honors pre-calc class? My average kids go to: An OOS land grant university with very extensive course offerings in their area of interest and an in-state non-flagshiip public with very respected faculty in the field.
