If you are a budding politician who sees the School Board as a stepping stone to higher political office, or some party hack who gets drafted to run for the Board because your party wants someone they can control, it’s very hard to stick to mundane educational policy. Everything you do needs to demonstrate you deserve a higher office or are advancing the agenda of special interest groups.  The School Board didn’t get this incompetent overnight.  It’s taken years of focusing on anything other than education.[/quote]

Want to see the definition of irony?  Watch Omeish's interview here.  She brags about the fact that she is running as an Independent (as are all SB nominees).  She fails to mention how she stacked the Fairfax Dem committee with high school students and members of her community so that she could win the Dem endorsement.  Laughable.
