Substitute "black" for "white" each time it appears anywhere in your reply or the original statement and see how it feels then.

It is not "common sense" that decent people of any hue should flee marauding bands of miscreants. Only a racist could posit a world where skin color determines who gets peacefully to go about their affairs in a public place.  Wasn't the right of people to be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin, what people marched, and demonstrated, and suffered and died for?[/quote]

I consider myself a pretty decent person and my common sense doesn't care about age or gender or race or sexuality or political ideology when it comes to disturbances.  If the opportunity is there for me to get away from the nonsense I have no problem exercising my freedom of choice and finding a more peaceful place to go about my affairs.    [/quote]
