I think this poster must want you to leave FCv and go wherever his kid is to make her look better. Most of the FCV haters are from Spirit, MCLean and Loudoun. These girls didn’t make the FCV team, so they are annoyed about that, but happy to rub your longer commute in your face, and now they want you to leave what you have. As an aside the FCV team gets 4-5 times the number of coaches at a showcase than any other va or md team.. No comparison.
If you are a starter at FCV it makes sense. If you are not a starter at FCV it doesn't really matter how many coaches show up to the games if you are bot on the field. And this is true just about anywhere at any level. If you are a sub you need to find a team where you can be a starter, period. If you are only getting 20 minutes a game, you need a new team.
I think the argument could be made that if you are hoping to get scouted, being a starter at a club like Loudoun ECNL creates fewer opportunities for being seen that your hypothetical 20-minute reserve at FCV. Very few coaches are coming to watch Loudoun ECNL play. Fact.
Can't speak for Loudoun because I haven't been to an ECNL showcase, but I do know that at despite an average record, many scouts were watching even the U15s from Baltimore Spirit at recent showcases. Seems to me that scouts come because players reach out to them. Less likely that a player is just stumbled upon while a coach happens to be watching. Can it happen -- sure. Your DD might be playing in a showcase even off the bench for FCV or Penn Fusion, etc., against another top level club that has a player who reached out to the scout and the scout might see your DD too. But the venue is probably more relevant than the team -- being at a showcase where the scouts are and doing your advance work prior is how the scout watches you, not because of the record of your DDs team.
