It’s actually much simpler than that.  MYS was the destination club for top elite players back when ECNL was the only game in town.  Now with DA, FCV has taken that role, and MYS has diminished.

The scout recognized the shift and moved her kid to DA, because she also wants what’s best for her kid.  US Soccer wants top kids to play in DA.  A few other top kids moved as well.

US Soccer wants to pull kids from the DAs --- they have a vested interest in this.
It doesn't matter if there are better kids playing in ECNL or elsewhere --- the important thing is that the DA is shown to be the conduit to the YNT.[/quote]

No, you misunderstood.   Good kids moved from ECNL to DA.   And they should continue to move.  THere's nothing wrong with US Soccer wanting to have more control over the NT pool.   ECNL doesn't have the rights to the NT pathway.[/quote]
