It matters considerably. There are 2 girls from MYS that are now on the US Soccer National Teams from when her DD played at McLean. If she gave advantage to that team then, that would explain why MYS has more players on the YNT than any other club currently. You can debate why but MYS has the most current YNT from this area, that is a fact. Her DD played at MYS when these girls were selected, that is a fact. She was a scout then, that is a fact. Now the her DD plays for FCV, suddenly FCV players are getting the lions share of invites, including her DD. See a pattern here? It's a major problem of biased invites along with nepotism.
It’s actually much simpler than that. MYS was the destination club for top elite players back when ECNL was the only game in town. Now with DA, FCV has taken that role, and MYS has diminished. The scout recognized the shift and moved her kid to DA, because she also wants what’s best for her kid. US Soccer wants top kids to play in DA. A few other top kids moved as well. Simple and not nefarious. Sorry it doesn’t suit your wants
This is pretty accurate. US Soccer wants to pull kids from the DAs --- they have a vested interest in this. It doesn't matter if there are better kids playing in ECNL or elsewhere --- the important thing is that the DA is shown to be the conduit to the YNT.
No, you misunderstood. Good kids moved from ECNL to DA. And they should continue to move. THere's nothing wrong with US Soccer wanting to have more control over the NT pool. ECNL doesn't have the rights to the NT pathway.
No I understood completely. US Soccer is willing to bypass including some of the most talented players in order to impose their model on youth soccer.
