Law enforcement here, I would probably pull over the OP. Someone going overly slow like the OP, is usually a sign of day drinking or impaired driving. Also, as a thought, do not ignore people signalling you with honking. Sometimes it is because they are rushing, but sometimes it is to alert you of danger, a flat tire, or other reasons. Lastly, it's self absorbed to make the flow of traffic all about you. But, that is living in this area. Selfishness if pretty typical of drivers here. Safe driving OP.
THIS IS A TROLL Police would never say anything even remotely close to this. Carry on.
I don't think that PP is a troll. Cops do pull over slow drivers who impede traffic. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/trending-now/officers-tweet-goes-viral-after-pulling-over-slow-driver-in-left-lane/772469540
That is the left lane of an interstate highway. Not a city street. And thank you, OP. Too many people around here think they are the most important person in the universe, and making up time because they didn't plan their day well, gives them the right to endanger others.
doesn't matter. If a driver is holding up traffic by driving too slowly, they'd get cited.
In Va you have to be deliberately impeding the flow of traffic to get such a ticket. I doubt such a ticket to someone driving 20MPH in a 25MPH would ever hold up in court (how would you even prove it? Radar gun? Aren't those considered not that accurate, which is why people don't get tickets for going 5MPH OVER the speed limit?) And I doubt that police would give them. In the locality where I live, where police lack the resources to do adequate enforcement against speeders, red light runners, people making illegal turns, etc, etc, if the police were to spend their time giving tickets to people driving 20MPH in a 25MPH zone, I would think it would be a scandal.
Just as an FYI, the reason law enforcement pulls over people who are driving under the speed limit is not because they are slow, it’s one of the most common forms of impaired driving. Drunk or high drivers mostly drive under the speed limit, so when cops see very slow, over deliberate drivers, they may follow them.
