To the poster who has posted about a member of a country club telling friends who are also members of the same club not to bring certain guests or their kids to the club - I don’t know anyone who would take someone seriously who told them who they could or couldn’t have as their own guest. I would think they would just ignore such a pushy controlling person.
Yes, one would think. Alas... sheep at CCC and St. Patrick's.
The moms who people are talking about on here who are rich, clueless and/or mean and vacuous, are a small and identifiable group. I know precisely who you are talking about. Just ignor them and find your own friends. They really aren't worth your time or emotions and they usually cannot get their kids into the Cathedral schools, Sidwell, Maret or Potomac and they would never send their kids to GDS (far to progressive for them). You find them mostly at Landon and Holton and Bullis.
yes, i know this crowd too although my kids are now on the older side of things (oldest is 12). Agree that none are at GDS (too progressive) or Sidwell (too academic). A couple are at the Cathedral schools with older kids but this crowd isn't getting in much anymore. Most are at Landon, Holton and surprisingly some Catholic schools.
I have older kids and this group has some older kids. Off the top of my head, from this crowd at St Pats that have had older kids move on, I can think of one family at Sidwell, two or three at STA, one or two at Maret, none at Potomac and none at GDS. There are far more at Holton, Bullis, Landon and, as you mention, more recently some of their kids have headed to various Catholic schools. Those moms are in for a rude awakening at the Catholic schools where their brand of cachet and elitism aren't the going currency.
If it’s a small and identifiable group from a pretty small school, how are they poisoning every Dc area private except GDS? Not sure snobby moms always have unappealing children from an admissions standpoint.
