TPMS is head and shoulders above these schools. It’s no contest and to suggest otherwise is silly.
OK let me put it this way - TPMS feeds into Blair. It is very clear Wootton students are much stronger (look at the SAT) than Blair students. If TPMS is stronger, they must have degraded when going to HS?
And look at the number of NMSF, Siemens and intel scholars and winners between Blair and Wootton, just to name these... It is obvious that Blair is much stronger, head and shoulders above Wootton .
We are talking about the non-magnet part, you know that, right?
we are talking about STEM
We are talking about best ES for a STEM kid - and consequently we talk about what MS and then HS the kid will go into by choosing such an ES - provided if the kid does NOT get into a magnet program. Therefore we are talking about the non-magnet part of these schools. If you say "Blair Magnet program is the best" or "TPMS magnet program is the best", I do not disagree. But that is not what we discuss. And I specifically stated: I talk about the strength of students. I can't see MS students test results, but I can see HS students test results. It is clear that Blair students are around average in the county (if you take out the contribution from the magnet students, then even lower), and Wootton being among the top ones. Therefore I come to the conclusion that RFMS and CJMS are much stronger in STEM compared to TPMS non-magnet part. I am not saying that the non-magnet student strength is everything. But I am just stating that as a fact, so that people can make their choices based on facts (maybe some people like their STEM kid to go to a school where the students are not strong in STEM, who knows). If you want to compare TPMS as a whole, that is your choice, just state it clearly as I did, and we are simply talking about different things.
