To be fair to FCV 05, the PDA team that destroyed them has destroyed other local teams. The team outscored ECNL competition 43 to 3 during the Fall season. I think we can all agree that FCV is a solid team but even solid teams have bad games. Anyone remember Germany's beatdown of Brazil during the 2014 World Cup? The poor behavior of two parents is an entirely different issue but let's not act like many teams don't have a parent or two who are on the edge.
In order to lose 7-0 at this level your lacking in creativity. Pure and simple. Parents should probably try and understand the game. Now a loss like that can be a great thing. In the right environment the kids will learn and respond positively. But with parents showing their colors on the sidelines one can guess what the kids hear regarding teammates at home. All of this is a shame for the kids. It’s a real chance for growth. Fingers crossed for the kids the coach handles it’s all the right way. Otherwise that game against TopHat could be a real problem.
Just curious: What's your soccer background? Losing 7-0 is because of a lack of creativity? I'm not sure how you reach that conclusion. PDA's 05s have been rolling over everything in its path for YEARS. The only reason Loudoun's 05s won regionals is because PDA didn't participate.
Let me answer your question with a question. When you watched that game did you see kids solving problems? Because there were many to solve that went unanswered. Now I could be a coach. I could be a parent. I could be teammate’s parent. I could be a rival’s parent. None of that should matter to the development of the players on that team and creativity should be part of their development. There no reason a highly talented team should lose 7-0. I’m not saying they would have won but PDA pulled back. Your not doing something if that’s the case. And if a team can’t problem solve then they lack creativity. But by all means concern yourself with a commenters background.

When I see a 7-0 scoreline at U14 the first things that come to mind are either the team played a high line and kept getting hit on the counter, or the team was trying to play out of the back against pressure and kept making mistakes. If the team on the losing end is a team that usually wins a lot, another thing that would come to mind is that they may have given up a few early goals and then lost composure. Does that mean they lack creativity? Maybe. Defending is more about organization than creativity though. As an example if they're getting hit by through balls on the counter attack, because the back line is caught too high upfield when the ball is turned over, the forwards and midfielders aren't getting organized quickly enough to get pressure on the ball, and the backline isn't recognizing the danger and dropping off soon enough - I wouldn't say their problem is lack of creativity. It's not like there are many different ways to solve that particular problem. If the team doesn't know how to deal with that situation, it's the coach's job to teach them. Pure and simple. Agree with you though that games like that can present great learning opportunities. They don't always reflect the true gap between the teams in terms of ability. Sometimes it's just a matter of one team fixing one or two problems and the next time it becomes a totally different game.
you can't come on here with reasonable material like that.
Prepare to be slayed by the Lord of the Board!!! FCV's GK clearly lacked creativity and problem solving to let 7 goals in.
Actually, according to her dad, it was the fault of the defender. I think everyone who witnessed the “ugly incident” heard that loud and clear.
