We didn't, we have friends who did. Even though I don't have a dog in this fight, I think the issue is if it was somewhat widespread, it is messed up for them not to send a blast email about it. [/quote]

Most likely because these kids were picked and then they rearranged based on siblings, friends, “special cases (cough: fake), etc.  we have wealthy friends that live in a crowded zone whose kids have gotten into every lottery school they applied—even Woodlawn in 7th with a high waitlist #.[/quote]

No, but since they have no idea whose parents are standing there watching and listening, why would they be dumb enough to swap out names? Really, these conspiracy theories just don't make sense. If they do make room for kids with special issues who would benefit from going there, they are adding spaces, rather than swapping out names after the lottery. It should be easy enough to figure out. Compare the number of kids whose names are pulled with the number of kids who matriculate. It's not that complicated or sinister. I know there are posters on here who love to insist otherwise, but it just doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, they definitely aren't swapping out names.  Anyone suggesting that is just making it up.  They clearly do add students outside the lottery, though.  APS even states as much on its HB admissions page.  My guess is that rich/connected parents are just better at navigating that process.  [/quote]
