Did anyone find out from HB what the 2 entries “cancelled” and then “waitlist” meant?
I think people are reading into this too much. It is likely a schoolmint glitch and not a conspiracy.
Agree. Does anyone who applied for HB 6th grade NOT have “cancelled” entries?
We didn't, we have friends who did. Even though I don't have a dog in this fight, I think the issue is if it was somewhat widespread, it is messed up for them not to send a blast email about it.
Most likely because these kids were picked and then they rearranged based on siblings, friends, “special cases (cough: fake), etc. we have wealthy friends that live in a crowded zone whose kids have gotten into every lottery school they applied—even Woodlawn in 7th with a high waitlist #.
Funny how that is so often the case.
The lottery was open to the public. Did anyone attend?
How would you ever check, are you writing down every name? Why is it not recorded and live-streamed and archived so we can all watch.
They don't announce the names. I think that is what they call the "double blind" - they assign applications random numbers, and then draw the relevant ranking. So you might see application 345 got slot 1 for ATS, but don't know that was John Doe.
I don’t think ATS as a choice school has any slots. If your house is in Glebe ES zone, for example, then your kid is in Glebe zone for lottery purposes, whether they go to ATS or to a private school or to Glebe.
