Your concern for Hogg is touching, but I still don't understand why you care about him being admitted to Harvard.  On the one hand, conservatives are all aghast at the inequity of Hogg being admitted over others who are more deserving, but then talk about how terrible Harvard is.  If it's so terrible, then why do you care if Hogg or anyone else goes there or how many graduations they have or whatever that has absolutely nothing to do with you?[/quote]

You're so absorbed in your bubble that you fail to see the big picture.  Harvard is as opportunistic as Hogg is.  I suppose they deserve each other.  And while I'd like to leave it at that, it only feeds into this division. Everyone is a delicate lily! God forbid someone's feelings should be hurt.

Look - Hogg will be a fly-by-night, as will Ocasio-Cortez for that matter.  all talk, no real experience, no real action

I have to agree with another PP who said Hogg will be Harvard's darling until he pushes the envelope a bit too far.

But the media just loves to pump them up as the latest reformers, and many people (you may be in this category) are all sparkly-eyed over these self-important people.

I DID respond to the question.  But the INABILITY for you (and many others) to examine the motivation BEHIND specific measures is mind-blowing! The short-sighted measures posted on these threads are simply silly.  Hogg is now another Ocasio-Cortez, a poster boy for the anti-gun side. He will be gone as quickly as he "was created" b/c people love the PR image . . . until the NEXT big PR piece comes along to trump his image.

And while you're all mesmerized by the figureheads presented on the screen, guess what?  Kids are still hungry; others are fighting turf wars in our own country. People aren't entering teaching - or, teachers are leaving in droves.  Public sector mental health specialists are too burned out to produce results (similar to teaching). Liberals are still belittling Trump supporters, making them even angrier.

Hogg is a pawn, and unfortunately, those of you fixated on him and his Harvard status are also pawns.  Get into YOUR community and better it for others.  You don't need media coverage to make yourself feel good either. You don't need to tweet about it or post on FB. I don't give a rat's ass about your selfie in the homeless shelter. Do it for the sake of doing it - but do leave your pussy hat at home.

If you have the time and the means (as Cupcake PP claims to have), then put your g-damn money where your mouth is.  But if you're like most people, you're lazy; you'd rather watch some fly-by-night mouthpiece talk a good game. She or he is your hero b/c you can simply sit back, watch and claim YOUR side is working for humanity.
