I would just tell WOHMs that this is your opportunity to step up. The SAHMs have built up a lot of cred for their kids by taking field trip organizing and party planning off my plate (thank God!). I always hear from the WOHMs that they wish they could help more, but that they just can't off from work. Well, Sweeties, you're presumably working because you get a paycheck. So let's see the fruits of that paycheck show up in some USABLE gifts. I suggest versatile gift cards like Amazon or Visa, even with the fees. Alternatively, a gift card to an establishment that you have VERIFIED I love, along with coupons or a discount code so that I can magnify the benefit.
you assume i'm rich because i work? lol!!!!
I find it more laughable that this person expects us to believe they’re a teacher. No teacher is invested in the SAHM vs WOHM debate. Parent volunteers are not viewed as ‘building up cred’ for their kids. And no teacher is going to insist on particular gifts with no regard for your finances (even with the fees). The ‘I hate that teachers get gifts when I don’t at my job’ crew is a demented lot around these boards at this time of year. Posing as obnoxious teachers does nothing to make parents appreciate and gift them less. ‘
