How early does SACC open? Just curious.
7 am.
So on a two hour delay, it still opens at the normal time, 7 am?
yes- so SACC had been open for well over an hour before they decided to cancel. way to go FCPS!
You know, the people who decide whether to open/delay/close did the best they could with a changing forecast. So what happens when your prince or princess gets sick at school on a normal day? You need to turn around and go pick them up, right? You don’t have a back up plan with someone to get them for you? You would be the first to complain if they cancelled school and this turned into only a rain event.
My kids have never been sick at school. But if one of them was- it most likely would not be crappy road conditions and I could get there in 25 minutes. If my kids wake up sick- I don’t send them to school. If school had been closed earlier in the morning- I would have taken leave but I trusted that a 6am decision was made and the 2 hour delay was going to be the final decision.
Late closures aren't ideal, but they do happen.
