https://ggwash.org/view/69423/our-endorsement-for-arlington-county-board-in-2018-matt-de-ferranti "When we interviewed him for the primary, de Ferranti emphasized building housing that would be affordable across a variety of incomes and available to younger workers who can build income and own homes in the future." I'm sorry, this is so ridiculous. I specifically asked de Ferranti at an event about this supposed plan and he had no specifics. He also mentioned current AH and the usual teachers and firefighters nonsense. I responded that income cutoffs for most Arlington AH, i.e., 60% of AMI, mean my nanny can't even qualify to live there and, while I pay her generously, I don't pay her what Arlington teachers (and I assume firefighters) make. The vote has to be for JV to at least spread out AH throughout the county.
LOL, rookie cops make like 60k a year and have pensions. Cops don't live here and neither do firefighters, and they don't want to. They live in big houses farther out.
Fake News...several Cops live in Tuckahoe and Discovery neighborhoods
And McKinley.
Stfu Most ACPD DO NOT live in Arlington. Certainly no one who joined the force on the last 8 years. Can it with that crap.
You expect people to take you seriously with that level of discourse?
I DGAF how you take me. First responders live further out. The few dudes you know are the exception to the rule.
DP. This is a ridiculous argument. Is your assertion that they'd live in subsidized housing if it were available to them? They would not. They'd drive in from WVa before living in Arlington Mill residences with the person they were arresting yesterday afternoon. Come on now. Teachers, cops, firefighters either live in Arlington if they can afford a decent home in a safe neighborhood OR they move further out. Same as any other professional person. They would not live in a CAF. We're not building CAFs for first responders or teachers.
