So the argument really isn't whether or not 6 am is a normal wake up time. Clearly it is for some people. The question is is running the coffee grinder or blender at 6 am acceptable or not? I am firmly in the "hells no" camp. Especially since neither of those appliances are essential to getting up and out in the morning.
We make morning smoothies sometime and those blender DO MAKE NOISE. I don't know about the grinder but I suspect the same decibel. It does not matter how short minute the blender/grinder are on, it is this daily expectation that "I AM MADE TO AWAKE because of Neighbor's appliance" is the source of irritation. Few occasions here and there is fine but every morning?! Hell NO. Its like, every night when you are trying to sleep, someone from upstairs starts vacuuming the living room, kind. u know it is EVERY NIGHT/EVERY MORNING. I would do the grinding the coffee the night before... If u are using the frozen fruits for smoothies, can u let it sit so it is not that frozen/icy/becomes soft enough that u don't have to use the "ICE" (the loudest option?) on your blender? Even then the blender will make noise, I think. What about the Hand blender?
