OP, I hope you are still reading. I'm a psychic medium. There are several of us on dcum. Maybe others will have suggestions as well. Children are closer to the spirit world than we are mostly for two reasons. One, they haven't been away for as long. They haven't had time to forget. And two, they haven't really learned that they aren't supposed to be perceiving these things. To them it's more normal. They are open. Let's talk about the very, very important concept of Dominion. Simply put, WE run the show in this earth reality. We have dominion over our space. We are in charge. And spiritual beings know it. However, they are also pretty good at picking up on people who don't understand this. And sometimes the lower vibration entities will take advantage of that. It especially happens with earth bound spirits, what some people call ghosts. The spirit your daughter is seeing in her room is causing her fear. Threatening to bite her? Really? I'm pissed off for you and for your daughter! How dare he! He needs to go. Right now. And it's almost always super easy to get rid of an earthbound spirit. Get some white sage. Go into the room when your daughter is not there. Stand in your dominion. Remember that you are in charge. There is nothing to fear. Ghosts are just people who are no longer alive. Tell him to leave. There is no reason to be rude. Simply say - This is my house. You do not belong here. You need to leave this house immediately and do not return. I send you away towards love and light. If you want to add punch to it, ask Jesus or an archangel (Michael is my go-to) for help. You don't have to believe in any of it. Just say the words. Light the sage and gently blow it out so that it is just smoking. Walk around the room with the sage. Don't forget to sage the hell out of the closet. Open the window when you are finished. Voila. Clean room. 99% of the time that's all it takes.
Very cool. We went to see a medium a while ago and he told us that our son could see "energys" (that's another term for what people call spirits as you know). I was in denial before seeing the medium. Our son would point to the top of the staircase or outside the window and say "the man is over there." It still gives me crazy goosebumps but I'm working on trying to embrace that uncomfortable feeling vs shutting it out. We try to see if it's a relative that's passed by showing him pictures but he's scared/very timid (he's 2.5). Our son is the more sensitive one out of our kids so it's not surprising in that sense. Either way, I find it incredibly fascinating.
I would gently encourage it! My parents knew that I could see spirits as a young child and it terrified them. I was able to accurately share stories of a grandfather who died well before my birth, for example. My parents are very much evangelical Christians. They believed me because they couldn't NOT believe me given the information I was able to share. But they thought it was evil. They still do. There are stories all over the Bible of people seeing and interacting with ghosts and spirits. I'm not sure why they believe suddenly it's evil. But it scares them to death. My grandmother however, encouraged it. She is the reason I am still able to connect. A little advice - Spirits should never be scary. Do some research about setting good spiritual boundaries if you decide you want to be open to communication. I don't even want my deceased loved ones waking me up in the middle of the night. And they know that. When I work as a medium, I have office hours. I really don't like it when spirits just pop up in my environment unless it's truly urgent. When they do, I lovingly ask them to step back. The way your body feels is the best indicator of what type of spirit you are dealing with. It's ok to be startled by something that appears. Everyone is. But if the energy feels dense, heavy, dark, scary, etc. Don't interact with it. Loved ones feel light, airy, happy, warm, loving, bright, .... I get goosebumps when a loving spirit is near, but not scary goosebumps. I also often get very warm. It's a good feeling, not a bad one.
PP, did you ever watch the series "Ghost Whisperer." It was one of my favorite shows. If you did, was it pretty accurate to your experience as a medium?
I've never watched it. Now I kinda want to! My kids used to love Ghost Hunters. It always seemed really ridiculous and staged to me. Spirits are more subtle, at least in my experience. I have never in my life had a spirit scratch me or push me or throw things at me. And I intentionally go into places where spirit activity has been reported to do a cleaning. I have never seen anything like what is sometimes shown on television. I don't know a single person who has. I guess I could see being startled and tripping. But the really dark, scary stuff is just not something I have ever experienced. I do know people who have dealt with shadow man type stuff. I haven't, but I could see how that could be scary.
So what do the spirits look like? Or do you just hear them?
