It's a hackneyed cliche, but they can't handle the truth. These are a group of people who treat their own areas, be it schools or central office departments, like their own personal fiefdoms, because someone further up the ladder has normalised their behaviour. It's what happens when insecure, incompetent people fail up into a position of power--and failing up is the ACPS way. If the taxpaying public--particularly those with kids in the system--heard the truth about the administrative bullying and backstabbing, the (figuratively and literally) incestuous way people are promoted/rewarded, or how so many administrators literally do not know how to do their jobs and have no expertise in the areas they oversee...well, the fine people of Alexandria may be less than pleased with this information, so it's best to not let them find out, by whatever means necessary.[/quote]
