Poor kids need safe, clean housing/neighborhoods, parents with jobs that allow them to put healthy food on the table and take sick leave and vacation (that means instituting a Federal Jobs Guarantee), high quality schools with engaged teachers, access to affordable health care, etc. etc. etc.

You also need to fight racism. Black people still earn less than white people, even when they earn professional degrees.

Anyway, my point is that this is a multi-faceted problem that requires a comprehensive, multi-faceted solution. [/quote]
