I volunteer with a young early 20s mother of 2. She has bragged at least 3-4 times to different people about cheating the system. These are her exact words! Apparently her boyfriend works as a nail technician and most of his income doesn't get reported. I am not sure if she tells the gov that they boyfriend is out of the picture. Anyway she is trying to have a third child and gets $800 per months from food stamps. She says her boyfriend brings home $2000 weekly in tips. She brags about buying $200 shoes and all kinds of crap. The girl is a paid childcare worker but only works 5 hours per week. I think she said this is the only income she reports to the government. I can't believe I am thinking about reporting her because she is nice to me. She's not very helpful in the nursery when we're working together though. Most of the time she sits in the rocking chair playing on her phone. How much trouble would she get into?
yet report her. thank you, the 60% of the pop who actually pays federal, state and county income tax.
OP here. I reported her this morning. Apparently there's a reward system for reporting fraud. I had no idea. So glad you got your reward  I hope you sleep well tonight knowing you took food and medical care away from kids. Despicable!

Op here. I will not get a reward because I choose to remain anonymous. This person is breaking the law and she deserves it. She went out of her way to tell me she cheats the system at least 3-4 times. She has told several other people at church. It actually makes me sick to hear all of her stories. She has no morals and needs a reality check. If the children really need assistance for food the government will give it to them. They obviously have money if she can afford a LV handbag and $200 shoes and lots of other shopping trips she likes to brag about.
Did it occur to you that her LV purse might be stolen? Ditto for the shoes. It sounds like her BF might be doing something illegal (perhaps running a happy ending spa or dealing drugs or laundering money). I'm more upset with the pp with the MIL who lives with her that is on food stamps. WTF?
OP here. No it didn't occur to me but honestly I don't care. She's told me she cheats the system and it makes me sick. There are plenty of people who really need assistance. At this point it's in the hands of the government to figure it out. She's trying to have several more children. I do get upset when people abuse welfare.
