Except there are a lot of us who understand that if we want to continue to grow as a city and have affordable housing, then something has to give. You cannot encase every neighborhood in glass and say "no more" and expect the economy to grow without it getting even more expensive than it already is. One doesn't need to be part of Ward 3 Vision to understand and support that point of view.

It is myopic to think that is shilling for developers. Affordable housing advocates, transit advocates and environmental advocates all share the same view.

That developers are the conduits to take areas like the 5220 site and turn it into something more productive doesn't make them bad guys. Someone built your house, and before that, it was likely trees. Are they bad guys for having built that house, or are you a bad guy for living there now?[/quote]
