This is definitely about securing the waiver. They need pad statistics to justify asking for a waiver in two years. And with 3.5 days off scheduled in January (not including New Years day), and the month is a wash. And since we were off for the Winter break starting on the 15th, it is just way too long off in the middle of the year for it not to impact teaching. We moved to FCPS and to the particular pyramid we are in and it is an absolute joke. Weather policies, first grade classes of 30 and 31, teachers who are 1, 2 or 3 years in, Instructional assistants who are warm bodies. And the Everyday math is terrible, no spelling. Honestly it is just terrible. Wish we had moved someplace else since we are not looking at privates. If you have a child with special needs, this is your county but for anyone without, it is freaking joke.
I thought only Title 1 schools used to have Everyday Math, but that went out with the adoption of Envision and Investigations. None of those are meant to be stand-alone programs and should serve as resources for the overall math program.
