The Chris Soules analogy is a pretty good one. Both Rachel and Chris had one option that was a guaranteed YES (all-in-kind of person) and one option that was a complete question mark/no. People are attracted to the challenge. If one person likes you so much without you really trying to impress them, it makes you think they don't know you very well or they have low standards. If another person challenges you and seems to make you work for their approval, it can be more intriguing and valuable to you. Of course, we know how well that turned out for Chris. I actually thought Whitney and Chris would work out. So, I don't have a lot of hope for Rachel and Bryan.... but good luck to them. Haven't all women dated a guy like Peter -- they say all the things we want to hear about planning the future, but they don't actually take steps toward that. They string you along by giving you those verbal commitments... but ultimately, they are just not that into you. It is a mind game for sure. I do give Peter credit for not caving to the pressures of the show. But, he did mess with Rachel's mind.
I'm not giving Peter credit about not caving to the pressures of the show because he knew he could basically have 30 woman fighting after him as the bachelor AND walk out of the Bachelorette like he beat Bryan and Bryan only won by default. You know Peter is insecure as heck and jealous of Bryan. I do agree with the challenge factor. it reminds me of that thing guys do when they insult woman to make the woman want to prove him wrong/intrigued that he isn't easy. The funny thing is as much as Bryan was portrayed as the Player and Latin Lover, it was the nice, mid-western, family values guy that was really playing the games.
Peter said all along that he was very into her but that he wasn't sure he could propose within the time frame of the TV show. He was very open about it the whole time. How is that playing games? Some of you make me feel sorry for the men you date.
