My mom recently did a DNA test and the results showed she was majorly Hispanic. A huge surprise bc she grew up believing her ancestors were French. Maybe my DD will choose to check the Hispanic box on her college applications. [/quote]

That is not what colleges care about anymore.

They are looking for '"1st generation to attend college" "s1t gen am" or "spent time is foster care" race really is useless on apps now

Are you just being willfully ignorant or are you truly this ill-informed?  What do you think affirmative action does?  It attempts to balance the playing field by making significant accommodations for URM applicants.  A Princeton study of race and admissions found that on average colleges were giving a 250 point accommodation for black students, something like 150 for latinos and a negative 70 for asians. Try and educate yourself on a topic before spouting off your nonsense.[/quote]
