Most non-native Americans would not be here today if this bill was in place when their ancestors came over.

This is a complete rejection of American ideals that have stood for several centuries.

So perhaps it's time for America to evolve from the refuge of the convicts and the infectiously diseased to the place of genuinely valuable, productive people.  You've made a great country with hardscrabble people; imagine how much better America would have been if immigration was always merit based. [/quote]
