I think that there was at least one guy in the group who was on a bike traveling by the side of the road.  Most of the kids were on foot including the victim.  The assailant got angry at the guy on the bike and at some point got out of the car and began chasing the group of kids with a baseball bat.  He swung and hit her, knocking her down.  The rest of the kids were all fleeing this guy.  They didn't realize that their friend was missing until they got back to church.  Once they realized that she was missing the cops were called.
